Under this agreement, Swissport will manage all ground support operations, including cargo handling, loading and unloading, and specialized care for temperature-sensitive products, such as perishable goods.
Mohanned Badri, Vice President of Operations at Saudia Cargo, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating that it will streamline ground-handling processes, reduce transit times, and ensure goods arrive in optimal condition. Swissport brings extensive experience and expertise, which will be crucial for Saudia Cargo’s operations at Nairobi.
Racheal Ndegwa, CEO of Swissport Nairobi, highlighted the importance of their expertise, particularly in handling temperature-sensitive goods and their innovative flower corridor project, which will ensure efficient logistics solutions. The partnership aligns with Saudia Cargo’s strategy to expand its presence in key markets, ensuring timely and secure cargo delivery. Saudia Cargo currently operates eight weekly flights to Nairobi, including four freighter flights using Boeing 747-400 aircraft and four passenger flights via Airbus A330 aircraft.
“As Saudia Cargo continues to expand its presence in key markets, this new chapter in the Swissport collaboration signals the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering unparalleled customer service and operational excellence to ensure that cargo arrives safely, on time and in perfect condition,” said Racheal Ndegwa.
