OCP Group, through its Specialty Products & Solutions (SPS) business unit, has entered into a global memorandum of understanding with Maersk to enhance their existing partnership and collaborate on creating innovative and sustainable supply chain solutions.

This agreement marks a new phase in their relationship, focusing on building agile, digital, and environmentally responsible logistics systems to support OCP’s international expansion, particularly in specialty products.

Scope of agreement

The MoU outlines cooperation across multiple areas, including ocean and inland transport, logistics services, and the digital transformation of supply chain operations. In addition to operational aspects, the partnership will also support education and training programs to nurture future logistics professionals, especially in Morocco, a strategic region for both companies.

According to Anass Hassainate, who leads supply chain and logistics at OCP’s SPS unit, the agreement is designed to establish a robust and resilient supply chain capable of navigating global uncertainties. He emphasized that this move aligns with OCP’s broader ambitions of scaling its global business, with a particular focus on specialized solutions for agriculture and industry.

Emilio De La Cruz, Managing Director for Maersk in Southwest Europe and the Maghreb, noted that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation and resilience. He also highlighted the importance of joint educational efforts, which aim to develop supply chain skills in the next generation, reinforcing Morocco’s position as a key logistics hub in the Mediterranean region.
