Maersk has launched a new seasonal ocean service, tailored to bolster Tanzania’s cashew nut export trade. Dubbed ‘Korosho Express’ this service, starting in late October 2024 and running until February 2025, will align with the peak season for cashew exports.
Korosho Express
The Korosho Express will offer bi-weekly sailings from Mtwara Port in Tanzania to major markets in China, Vietnam, and India. Babafemi Jay Aderounmu, Head of East Africa Market for Maersk’s Ocean business, emphasized the company’s dedication to providing logistics solutions that cater to the needs of its customers. He noted that the new service aims to support the growing cashew export industry in Tanzania by offering reliable, scheduled services during the busiest period for exporters.
The service will feature dedicated capacity, equipment, improved connectivity, and a streamlined shipping process, allowing for efficient handling of export volumes while maintaining dependable transit times and scheduling integrity.
