Jaz Aviation, a Lagos-based business aviation operator, has recently upgraded its fleet by replacing its Embraer Legacy 600 with a newer Legacy 650.

The transition highlights Jaz Aviation’s focus on modernizing its fleet, offering enhanced performance and range with the Legacy 650 compared to the Legacy 600. Legacy 650 under registration of 5N-PPB (msn 14501156), is a 12.2-year-old aircraft, configured to seat up to 13 passengers, which was first active on January 16, 2025, performing a test flight around Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH. It was ferried to Lagos two days later.

Originally delivered to Empire Aviation, it was first registered as A6-VAS, and then reregistered as A6-SSV. It last operated under Empire Aviation’s ‘MJE’ code on May 26, 2024, flying between Dubai World Central and Basel.

The older Legacy 600, which Jaz Aviation retired in April 2024 moved to Riga for additional maintenance, where it was reregistered as 5N-ONC. On November 14, it was ferried to Abuja with a stop at Basel. The aircraft is now operated by fellow Nigerian business aviation specialist Jet Support Services.

The Legacy 600 joins another Embraer aircraft in the fleet of Jet Support Services, an EMB-145LR, alongside a Hawker 800XP, a Hawker 850XP, and a Phenom 300. Following this replacement, Jaz Aviation’s fleet now includes a recently added Hawker 800XP and the newly inducted Legacy 650.
