Ethiopian Airlines has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art passenger terminal at Wako Gutu Airport in Bale Robe, Ethiopia, marking another milestone in its domestic aviation expansion. The ceremony was attended by Oromia Regional State President Shimelis Abdisa, Ethiopian Airlines executives, and other dignitaries.
The new terminal aims to enhance the travel experience for passengers flying to and from Bale Robe, offering modern facilities and improved convenience. Ethiopian Airlines operates 14 weekly flights to this region, which is renowned for its rich natural attractions, including the Sof Omar cave system—one of the world’s most extensive underground caverns—and the Bale Mountains National Park.

This development is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ broader strategy to strengthen regional connectivity and support socio-economic growth across the country. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, highlighted the airline’s commitment to upgrading its domestic infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of delivering high-quality facilities that improve accessibility and enhance passenger experiences.
