Egypt’s port authority has entered into an agreement with the Swiss logistics company Medlog to develop a significant dry port and logistics hub in the 10th of Ramadan City. This initiative underscores Egypt’s commitment to bolstering its logistics sector, fostering industrial growth, and enhancing its connectivity with global trade routes.
Market boost
The project spans 250 acres and is strategically aimed at enhancing Egypt’s transportation and logistics infrastructure. The site will be divided into two sections, with 130 acres set aside for the dry port, and the remaining 120 acres for the logistics area. The hub will integrate improved road and rail networks, facilitating seamless connections between Egypt’s industrial and agricultural supply chains and major ports along the Red Sea and Mediterranean.
This development is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to position itself as a leading regional transport and logistics hub. Egypt currently operates 22 dry ports and logistics zones and aims to increase this number to 32. Similar projects are already underway in other cities, including Sadat, New Damietta, New Fayoum and Beni Suef.
10th of Ramadan City, located near Cairo, is one of Egypt’s most industrialized areas, hosting numerous facilities for textiles, food processing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Similar dry port projects are underway in other key cities such as Sadat, New Damietta, New Fayoum, and Beni Suef.
