The opening took place during his visit to the Integrated Industrial Zone in Sokhna, a key part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). Covering an area of 100,000 square meters, the facility is expected to create 2,500 direct and indirect jobs. It features a digital platform designed to enhance shipment management and expedite customs clearance through smart technology.

Additionally, the centre provides secure storage, high-quality transport services, and a connection hub for investors and local transport providers. A knowledge bank is also included to offer training on modern logistics tools, along with a business services centre to support investors.

During his visit, Madbouly also inaugurated various projects with a combined investment of over $544 million. These initiatives span multiple sectors, including logistics, engineering, building materials, textiles, chemicals, medical and industrial gases, and renewable energy. These investments aim to strengthen local supply chains, enhance strategic industries, and attract further investments to the region.

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCEZ) is a special economic zone located in Egypt, established in 2015 with the aim of promoting economic growth and attracting foreign investment to the country. The zone encompasses an area of over 461 square kilometers and is located along the eastern and western banks of the Suez Canal.
