Cape Town International Airport has once again been recognized as the Best Airport in Africa at the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards. This prestigious recognition reaffirms the airport’s position as the continent’s premier aviation hub, known for its world-class service, efficiency, and infrastructure.

Alongside the title of Best Airport in Africa, Cape Town International also earned accolades for having the Best Airport Staff Service and being the Cleanest Airport in Africa. These honors were determined through a global passenger satisfaction survey conducted by Skytrax between August 2024 and February 2025.

Rankings

The survey collected feedback from travelers representing over 100 nationalities and evaluated more than 575 airports worldwide. Criteria included check-in processes, arrival procedures, cleanliness, shopping facilities, security, and boarding efficiency.

Internationally, Singapore Changi Airport was named the Best Airport in the World for 2025, also receiving top rankings for its dining options, restroom facilities, and overall service in Asia. Cape Town’s performance not only stood out regionally but also reflected global standards of excellence.

In 2024, Cape Town International was also ranked as Africa’s top airport by aviation analytics firm AirHelp. This assessment reviewed 239 airports across 69 countries. Cape Town received an overall score of 8.50, with particularly strong results in on-time performance (8.6) and customer satisfaction (8.4), highlighting its consistent delivery of high-quality services.

South Africa’s dominance in the aviation sector was further emphasized by Johannesburg International Airport, which achieved a remarkable global ranking of sixth. With an overall score of 8.29, Johannesburg was commended for its operational efficiency and strong customer feedback, reinforcing the country’s reputation for excellent airport infrastructure.
