Africa Logistics Network (ALN) has been named the Best Freight Forwarder Network in the world, specifically for its operations in Africa, during the second edition of the Africa Supply Chain Awards.

The prestigious event took place in the ballroom of the King Fahd Palace Hotel in Dakar, Senegal. ALN, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, earned the award for its extensive presence across Africa, boasting 82 members on the continent out of a global network of 220.

The award ceremony, held under the high patronage of the President of Senegal, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Diakhare Faye, was organized by the ALM group, which also publishes the Africa Supply Chain Magazine. To be eligible for the award, networks needed to have been in operation for at least five years and have a minimum of 10 members in Africa. ALN far exceeded these criteria, solidifying its status as the network with the most extensive coverage in Africa.

ALN’s Chairman, Marcello Saponaro, expressed immense pride in the achievement, attributing the network’s success to the vision of his father, Alessandro Saponaro, the founder of ALN. The recognition was accepted by Senegal-based members of ALN, including Integral Logistix, CVL International, and 2HL, alongside representatives from Socodam (Democratic Republic of Congo) and Groupe Imana (Ivory Coast).

Marcello Saponaro highlighted the network’s growth and ongoing leadership after 10 years, with plans to celebrate during ALN’s 10th annual meeting in Bangkok next November. The meeting is held alternately between Africa and other continents, and it will return to Africa in 2025.
